Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. Sedgwick County Court Docket does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be kept as needed to answer it. We limit the message to our team and do not disclose it beyond the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the website may automatically receive basic technical and usage details about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show, in aggregate, which pages draw visits and where visitors leave. Analytics providers assist with that traffic measurement. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how parts of the website function.
What We Do With This Data
Information collected through ordinary site operations is used only for the functions described here:
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Sedgwick County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case information. It provides general directions to Colorado Judicial Branch calendars, Sedgwick Combined Court, and the Clerk of Court request channels. This private website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes shown on some pages. Information submitted there is handled under the provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider decides its own retention and disclosure practices, which we do not control. Review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Sedgwick Combined Court, Colorado Judicial Branch resources, legal-aid organizations, or commercial services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's policy controls that visit. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. That activity occurs through the provider's systems and practices.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be disclosed only to the following categories when relevant:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect information in our control. No internet service can promise absolute security, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Colorado CJD 05-01 governs access to source court case records, while the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act, C.R.S. ยงยง24-72-304 and 24-72-305, addresses source criminal justice records. Those authorities do not create visitor-data rights against this private website. Separately, Sedgwick County Court Docket will honor the following requests concerning visitor information in its control:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A revised version will be posted here and identified by its effective date.
